This Adventure Series trip offers excellent value. You may choose from several departure dates throughout the summer months. Any departure is guaranteed with a minimum of 2 participants and the maximum group size is 19.

With a speciall adapted 4WD mountain coach, travel off the beaten track through the uninhabited and deserted highlands of Iceland. Visit the Landmannalaugar Nature Reserve; see the barren black sands of Sprengisandur, the Geysers that spout, Jokulsarolon Glacier Lagoon and Dettifoss waterfall – to list just a few highlights. The program is flexible so there’s plenty of time to stop and fully appreciate magnificent Iceland.

Day 1 - Arrive Reykjavik

Use your leisure time in Reykjavík to uncover the unique charm of the world’s northernmost capital or book one of our pre-programs to experience Iceland. Option: ask about transfers from the airport – you can choose from a direct transfer or select one that stops at the Blue Lagoon geothermal spa.

Day 2 - Thingvellir - Gulfoss - Geyser

Visit Thingvellir National Park, ancient site of the world’s first parliament and Geyser geothermal area. Take part in a reforestation project. See Gullfoss – the Golden Falls. (Overnight in Hvolsvollur area, B, D)

Day 3 - Vik - Dyrholaey - Kirkjubaejarklaustur

Visit two impressive watefalls: Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss. At Dyrholaey headland watch for 1,000s of puffins and other seabirds (until mid-August). Stop in the village of Vik, cross the Myrdalssandur volcanic plains and the Eldhraun lava field. (Overnight Kirkjubaejarklaustur area, B, D)

Day 4 - Jukulsarlon - Skaftafell

Drive to Vatnajokull, the largest glacier in Europe; see the glacial lagoon filled with icebergs. Optional (extra cost); boat tour on the lagoon, from EUR36 per person). (Overnight Kirkjubaejarklaustur area, B, D)

Day 5 - Landmannalaugar

See the astonishing region whose highlight is the colourful rhyolite mountains of Landmannalaugar. Take a dip in a remote brook where hot and cold springs converge. (Overnight Thjorsardalur area, B, D)

Day 6 - Sprengisandur

A day of discovering some hidden treasures of the uninhabited interior. (Overnight Lake Myvatn area, B, D)

Day 7 - Tjornes - Asbyrgi - Dettifoss - Lake Myvatn

Travel through the town of Husavik, discover the horseshoe-shaped canyon of Asbrygi, see Dettifoss – Europe’s most powerful waterfall set in a canyon, visit Lake Myvatn – a geological wonderland and paradise for birders. (overnight Lake Myvatn area, B, D)

Day 8 - Akureyri - Skagafjordur

See the waterfall of the gods and visit Akureyri, the vibrant “Capital of the North” that you have time to explore on your own. Continue into traditional horse breeding country in Skagafjordur. Optional: ride a horse, approx. EUR70). (Overnight Laugarbakki area, B, D)

Day 9 - Hvammstangi - Eiriksstadir - Snaefellsnes Peninsula

Visit the Viking house of Erik the Red, follow the coast around the beautiful Snaefellsnes Peninsula. (Overnight Snaefellsnes area, B, D)

Day 10 - Snaefellsjokull National Park

Spend the day exploring this beautiful national park. Walk beaches, visit a harbour village, hike between the settlements of Arnarstapi and Hellnar. Return to Reykjavik. (Overnight Reykjavik, B)

Day 11 - Depart

Time at leisure until you make your own way to the airport for your onward flights.
