This is an example of a trip that was designed for a couple who wanted to discover the Tuscany region of Italy. After visiting Florence, they collected their rental car and drove through the Chianti Valley and over to the intriguing city of Lucca before continuing to the beautiful area of Cinque Terre on the rugged coast. They drove up into northern Italy and the famous Lake Como before continuing to Verona and Venice.

The self-drive offered freedom and flexibility. Private tours were included throughout to provide “insider information” that you just can’t get from a guidebook. Special features included a cooking class and a couple of wine estate visits including wine tastings.

Hotels were all 4* and included a river-view property in Florence and a castle in Chianti, just to highlight a couple.
