Rwanda is a small and very beautiful country. A visit to Rwanda to see the mountain gorillas is often part of a trip that also includes a safari component in Kenya; a favorite combination links a safari in the Masai Mara with gorilla tracking in Rwanda.

In this 5-day Rwanda itinerary, we connect you with our long-time Rwandan affiliates who have excellent vehicles and top guides. You will be met at the airport on Day 1 by your guide who will be with you until you leave the country. The main highlight is being able to spend time with the mountain gorillas, and we include two gorilla permits so you can really embrace the experience. We have chosen more moderate properties, including a lodge with one of the best locations in Volcanoes National Park. This sample trip offers culture, mountain scenery and wildlife viewing.

Many of our clients have had the privilege of spending time with the mountain gorillas over the years. Here's what some of them have said:

  • "Being close to the gorillas was a dream come true for me"
  • "The local guides were all fantastic, without exception"
  • "It was a great trip; more than we could of ever anticipated. Amazing experience!"
  • "Gorilla trekking was amazing!"
