As a pioneer of customized travel, Denell is the heart and soul of our company.

Civilized Adventures was born in 1994; when the Calgary Zoo needed someone to create Zoofaris, conservation focused trips in Africa and South America. From those early Zoofaris, to chasing solar eclipses for the Royal Astronomical Society, to Chimpanzee Treks for the Jane Goodall Institute of Canada, Denell is an operational guru.

She draws on decades of travel experiences to ensure her company’s tours are thoughtful, organized and personalized; that includes surprizing VIP details, and creative touches that aren’t rushed.

Developing honest and long-standing relationships with hundreds of international suppliers, Denell is privy to some of the most undiscovered, and awe-inspiring experiences in the world of travel.

As the face of Civilized Adventures, she wants her tours to remind guests that travel nurtures the soul, and opens our hearts.
